Market Reactions to FED Announcements - Final Project
Our project investigated financial market responses to Federal Reserve communications through sentiment analysis of FOMC announcements and minutes from 2000-2024, using both traditional dictionaries and GPT-4 to classify statements as bearish, neutral, or bullish. The research revealed that bearish sentiment in Fed communications creates more market volatility than neutral or bullish statements, with a noticeable pattern of market declines immediately following announcements followed by a recovery period. The analysis also found stronger correlation between positive sentiment and positive returns in the days leading up to announcements compared to weaker correlations post-announcement, suggesting anticipatory market behavior.
Stablecoin Integration Opportunities for Google - FinTech Capstone
This semester-long project analyzes how Google could implement stablecoins (digital assets typically backed by dollar-denominated assets) across its operations to reduce transaction costs and improve efficiency. We explore broader applications beyond consumer payments, including B2B merchant settlements, supplier payments, treasury management, and Google Pay integration, all of which could strengthen Google’s position in the digital payments marketplace while delivering near-instantaneous settlement for international transactions.
Century City Investment Memorandum
From working with the Watermark Group off and on throughout school breaks, I was able to contribute meaningfully to the underwriting and analysis of a $14M+ apartment acquisition in Century City, CA. I developed pro forma financials, structured investor returns, and created this investment memorandum used for capital raising. Check out the deck here!
